GREETINGS TO THE FORUM PARTICIPANTS

Dear Colleagues!

Transition of the Russian economy to innovative and social oriented development brings principally new requirements to the system of strategic planning and needs coordinated efforts of state governmental bodies, local self-government and business. Most important role belongs to the development of the integrated system of strategic planning documentation of the Russian Federation, RF subjects and municipalities which all have to form the predicted and favorable environment for planning and implementation of investment projects and business programs.
The Ministry for Regional Development of the Russian Federation is interested in promoting dialogue on the mentioned problems and fully supports the initiative to carry out All-Russia Forum - Strategic Planning in Regions and Cities of Russia, to be held in St Petersburg on October, 20-21, 2008. I hope, that Forum will become a public debating platform for improving the strategic planning system of social and economic development of Russian Regions.

I am sure, the Forum will continue traditions of the Annual Forums of Strategic Planning Leaders and will provide effective cooperation, dialogue and communication among all participants of strategic planning process: federal and regional authorities, local self-governments, infrastructural companies, development agencies, business community and  experts.
